Description

• Resin-bonded CBN grinding wheels are frequently used for grinding tungsten carbide or HSS tools, as well as in other manufacturing grinding processes. They are suitable for both dry and wet grinding.
• Phenolic resin bond type for maximum material removal rates. Very long tool life. Can be used for wet and dry grinding.

Usage recommendations

• A larger D diameter provides greater economic efficiency due to improved thermal and kinematic conditions.
• The coating thickness, W or U, should be selected so that it is narrower than the cross-section of the workpiece to be machined.
• Wet grinding should be preferred to dry grinding where possible. This reduces the risk of thermal damage to the workpiece and tool wear. In some cases, bond types designed for dry grinding can also be used for wet grinding.
• Large abrasive coating thicknesses, X, affect the material costs for the CBN and bond. However, they have little effect on production costs. A greater abrasive coating thickness, X, is therefore generally more economical.
